Boxcar Kid Rides Again

I couldn't believe it on Tuesday night at the Chocolate Lily Gala when the young moderator announced that the Second Prize goes to Boxcar Kid. I was totally shocked. It was so unexpected for this 'poor cousin' of a book. The award is especially meaningful to me because it's the kids who voted for it. Yay, young readers!!
The First Prize went to Joan Betty Stuchnet for the Honey Cakes, well deserved. And she gave the very best acceptance speech that I've ever heard. She said that as a kid she dreamed of receiving the Oscar one day, but this was way better.
Way to go, Joan!!
